Hopemills grew fast and it grew in layers. That is the single most useful thing to know before quoting a job here.
A mill town that became a commuter town, Hopemills has an older core with genuine mid-century housing, then band after band of subdivision built through the seventies, eighties, nineties and beyond. Two streets apart you can find a house that needs its whole service replaced and one that needs nothing but a charger circuit.
In the older sections of Hopemills the findings are the familiar Cumberland County set: 100-amp services with no room left in the panel, two-wire ungrounded circuits behind two-prong outlets, aluminum branch wiring in the late-sixties and early-seventies builds, and kitchens and bathrooms with no GFCI protection because none was required when they were wired.
In the newer subdivisions it is the opposite job entirely — sound modern panels where the work is adding circuits for a bonus room, a hot tub, a workshop or a car. Which is why we look before we price, rather than assuming from the address.
Being this close means we get the small jobs as well as the big ones, which is not true everywhere on our list.
