The most common lighting installation mistake in this county is not a bad wiring job. It is six recessed cans put exactly where the joists happened to allow.
The result is a room that is bright and flat, with shadows on every counter and a ceiling that looks like a parking garage. Nothing about the electrical work was wrong. The layout was never drawn, and no licensed electrician was asked to draw it.
